Examples of Acts in Use
From Quest (as all the related pages):
The following example returns to Ragdorak's game and provides an idea of how Acts can be used and how they help a gaming group to maintain control over various running threads and conversations. Note the use of the <response> tag and the consumption thereof by the relevant other player or GM once the tag is acknowledged. An Act should never end with a <response> tag unacknowledged. Note also the correct use of OOC…
- Act Example: This is the complete Act process as told in Quest rules
but compiled in a page whose history you'd check to get the exact difference between steps.
As you need login permissions to even get this example, I've copied the different steps to a set of wiki pages (all PCs and players are fiction).
The game will go using both this wiki and the email:
- You make the modifications you need to the previous text of the act.
- You send an email to GM, players and lurkers with a brief description of your changes and any OOC comments.
So, let's say that we have one GM (as usual) and 3 players:
- Daniel plays Ragdorak
- Lucy plays Jetfra
- James plays Spinglass
- Sarah plays Sigmund
So let's
- GM comes first creating the Act's page.
- Act start from GM
- Then we have the first answer from a player, Daniel in this case
- Enter Ragdorak: The first gaming answer from Daniel's PC (Ragdorak)
- Diff: Changes added to Act's text by Daniel
- And the first answer from Lucy
- Enter Jetfra: The first gaming answer from Lucy's PC (Jetfra)
- Diff: Changes added to Act's text by Lucy
- Enter Jetfra: The first gaming answer from Lucy's PC (Jetfra)
- And the first answer from James
- Enter Spinglass: The first gaming answer from James's PC (Spinglass)
- Diff: Changes added to Act's text by James
- Enter Spinglass: The first gaming answer from James's PC (Spinglass)
- And the first answer from Sarah
- Enter Sigmund: The first gaming answer from Sarah's PC (Sigmund)
- Diff: Changes added to Act's text by Sarah
- Enter Sigmund: The first gaming answer from Sarah's PC (Sigmund)
- And then the final touches for Act's text by GM just to make the text more readable and to answer PC's questions
- First Edit GM
- Diff: Changes added to Act's text by GM
- First Edit GM
- And finaly some last touches from GM
- Last Edit GM
- Diff: Changes added to Act's text by GM
- Last Edit GM
